TL;DR
✦ Unpaid / errored pledges will be canceled and you will be put on my blacklist for future campaigns.
✦ Unanswered surveys will be closed, you will not receive any rewards, and your pledge will be considered a donation.
✦ Unpaid / errored shipping costs for pledges will be marked as fulfilled and you will not receive your rewards.
✦ You will still be able to buy items from my shop even if you're blocked on Backerkit.
✦ I am always willing to work with you, but I require consistent communication in order to do so. Email is the best way to reach me.Backer Responsibilities
As a backer, you are responsible for:
✦ Ensuring your pledge payments and shipping payments are successful. This includes making sure your card information is correct and checking whether your bank has flagged the Backerkit charge as fraudulent. You should receive automated emails from Backerkit if your payment(s) fails.
✦ Filling out your survey in a timely manner. I can't process your pledge for fulfillment unless I know which rewards you want.
✦ Keeping up with campaign updates.
✦ Responding to my emails, if needed. I typically send a courtesy email to backers as a head's up near the end of a project's fulfillment if I'm missing your survey or shipping payment.Unpaid / Errored Pledges
✦ Backerkit typically charges payment methods within 24-72 hours after the campaign ends. I do not offer refunds, so be sure to adjust or cancel your pledge before then.
✦ If your payment fails, you will receive an email from Backerkit informing you of the failure with instructions on how to fix it. Backerkit will attempt to recharge your payment method about 7 days after the initial charge for a total of two charge attempts.
✦ If there is no successful payment two weeks after the campaign ends, your pledge will be considered abandoned and will be canceled. You will also be put on my blacklist and will be blocked by Backerkit staff from supporting any of my future campaigns.
✦ This also applies to first payments for Pay Over Time / Pay-in-4 backers.You are pledging to fund the production of campaign items, which you will receive your part of in exchange for your financial assistance. Pledging to my campaigns and then choosing not to pay will not be tolerated and will result in you being blacklisted. You know when the charge is coming and how much you’re pledging for. If you know you will not have the funds within two weeks of the campaign ending, please rethink pledging to my campaigns.If you know your inbox tends to eat Backerkit emails or mark them as spam, please whitelist [email protected] to make sure you see those important update emails.Unanswered Surveys
✦ Enamel pin campaigns and campaigns with finalized prototypes have a survey window of 10 days to claim your pledge rewards. You can also select additional campaign add-ons during this time.
✦ Plush campaigns that require additional prototypes typically have open surveys until all designs are finalized. These surveys close on a case-by-case basis, so be sure to follow the campaign’s updates.
✦ There are always Backerkit updates warning of the surveys closing and order locking dates.
✦ After the closing / locking deadline has passed, additional campaign add-ons are no longer available. I give a varying grace period before your survey will eventually close and you will be unable to access it. Your pledge will then be considered a donation and you will not receive any rewards. I typically send stragglers a personal email warning about a week in advance before surveys close for good.You are pledging to a campaign that requires your continued attention after the crowdfunding is over. You know a survey is coming within two weeks after the campaign ends and you know I can’t deliver your rewards without knowing what you want.If you know your inbox tends to eat Backerkit emails or mark them as spam, please whitelist [email protected] to make sure you see those important update emails.Unpaid / Errored Shipping Cost
✦ There will be campaign updates posted and Backerkit emails sent with the shipping & add-ons charge warning. I typically try to schedule this charge on Fridays, but it might vary due to random circumstances.
✦ If your shipping charge fails, you will receive an email from Backerkit informing you of the failure with instructions on how to fix it.
✦ Failed shipping charges will attempt to recharge every few days until successful. I typically retry failed charges on Mondays and Fridays until the project closes.
✦ If the reason for the unsuccessful charge is because your card was declined, it’s likely that your bank has blocked access due to suspected fraud. In this case, I am unable to reattempt any more charges on my end and it requires your attention as the backer to fix it.
✦ Failed shipping charge pledges have until the campaign is 100% fulfilled to fix it and still receive your rewards.
✦ I typically send failed charges a personal email warning about a week in advance before closing the project for good. Once the project is closed, you will be unable to access your survey, your pledge will be considered a donation, and you will not receive any rewards.You know that shipping is charged for campaigns when items are either in-hand or on their way to me. You know a separate shipping charge is coming once an update and Backerkit email warns you of the date.If you know your inbox tends to eat Backerkit emails or mark them as spam, please whitelist [email protected] to make sure you see those important update emails.Refunds
✦ I do not offer refunds. However, if there is an issue with your pledge, please contact me via email and I'll see what I can do.✦ If you are blocked / blacklisted on my Backerkit, you will still be able to buy from my shop, unless otherwise stated on a case-by-case basis.
